Snorkeling Safety Guide
The Snorkel Safety Sub-committee, set up by Hawaiʻi’s State Department of Health, put together the brochure below to promote safe snorkeling practices.
This initiative comes in response to growing concerns over snorkel-related drownings, particularly in calm water conditions. The study behind it looks at why these incidents happen and gives practical advice to prevent them.
Staying safe in the water is ultimately the snorkeler’s responsibility. Be aware, prepared, and cautious every time you dive in.
